There really is nowhere quite like The Londoner hotel, particularly when choosing it to host a barmitzvah. Set in the heart of London, in Leicester Square, the world’s first super-boutique hotel is an architectural design to behold and a joy in which to plan an event.
On arrival, the guests entered via a discreet private entrance and elevator to escape the hubbub of Soho, and they made their way to the welcome receptions. Indeed, plural, there were two receptions: one reception for the adults and one for the youngsters. A youthful members-only style space had been set up just one level down from the adults, and it was here that they could collect their lanyard passes, drink inventive mocktails, and play arcade games.
With final touches on a design-heavy set up of the Ballroom, the doors were ready to open. Guests were truly taken aback by the abundance of details woven into the theme of the event, all amidst the imposing high ceilings and contemporary theatre-style space of the Ballroom. Potted plants covered the centre of all tables, with additional high foliage arrangements on all of the adult ones. Every youngster received a bespoke Padel racket which, not only had a very cool design on it, but also had their name hand-graffitied on one side. While half the room found rackets on their place settings, the adults found branded scratch cards on theirs. These scratch cards were a real ice-breaker amongst the guests and sparking great amusement as well as conversation. Every guest was guaranteed a prize, whether that be a special cocktail from the bar, or a hoodie from the ‘Merch Store’, everyone was a winner and invested in the games.
In a large dark space such as that particular Ballroom, all of the expertly curated lighting designs looked phenomenal as the party began. The neon details, dotted throughout the room, were popping and added the cool-factor which was so sought-after for this young gent. As only the ones with their finger on the pulse know, the drink of the moment is Prime and there was even a Prime fountain to both quench everyone’s thirst and add some entertainment. Delicious kosher food from Eat Me Events was enjoyed throughout the room and the service coordinated perfectly with the band’s dance sets between courses. Levi Levin’s band’s combined with ALR’s horns and DJ Mar on the desks formed an electric combination keeping guests on the dance floor. The guests were guided through the evening’s journey by dazzling hostess Kelly Jade, who kept all speeches moving and encouraged interaction. Both young and older guests alike enjoyed getting glitter and hair art done, with many even having Sam’s name sprayed into their hair.
With his name on the merchandise, sprayed on heads, and up in lights, there was no doubt whose party this was. The family brought their energy and the guests matched it, resulting in a phenomenal evening for all.
