Camden’s historical Grade II former railway engine shed, the Roundhouse, is one of the most liberating event venues in which to work. Endless opportunities for creativity and a vast space pave the way for a showstopping party, which was exactly the brief from these JustSeventy clients.
A Batmizvah like no other and the family’s second party within an 8-month period, it was important to keep the bar high and remain inventive in producing something special for all those in attendance. Designed as an immersive circus-themed simcha, following the religious ceremony, the youngsters were truly taken in by all that was on offer. When away from their lounge-seating with bento box dinner, the children could be found in the VIP games area which also expanded to the inclusion of glitter tattoos and more.
Over in the adult area, the circus theme ran true from the moment that guests would enter… accepting their theatre ticket escort cards and taking in the entertainment on offer. Taking advantage of the venue’s epic architecture, the JustSeventy team had designed the event in a round, with a bespoke circular dance floor taking price of place. Throughout the dinner courses by Alison Price, guests marvelled at a range of circus acts to keep them entertained. From aerial acts and acrobat rings to roller skaters, there was never a dull moment!
Aside from the phenomenal entertainment, the room had been dressed by the legendary Simon Lycett who used a range of bright acrylic installations mixed with vivid florals to soften and provide some femininity for the Batmitzvah. The custom-print semi-circular bar had two quirky displays of gerberas, of course with bartenders in themed outfits to match.
With the adults captivated by the custom video content on the screens and ALR’s BEAT band filling the dance floor, all that was left was to reveal the secret dessert area to make all the youngsters (and adults!) go wild! A feast for all the senses, the grand dessert bar was groaning with everything from cookies and ice cream to sweets and even a chocolate fountain.
Whether the euphoric atmosphere, or the sugar high from the mountain of desserts, all guests managed to leave a memorable celebration with a spring in their step after experiencing nothing like ever before.
