FIFTY & FABULOUS

There are good parties, then there are parties that turn out to be so phenomenal that a client can’t resist throwing another one for their next milestone birthday. Thrilled to be involved once again, the JustSeventy team were only too eager to go even bigger and better than this client’s last party.

Walking through the private events entrance of Claridge’s is nothing short of a joy for any guest. Everyone was greeted by the ever-elegant Claridge’s team with trays of champagne, and then directed to the majestic tree-style escort table in reception to pick up their cards. Positioned centrally in the stylish Ballroom reception area was a glorious bespoke bar. Bright and bold, with remarkable floral decorations to tie in, this bar was a showstopper. Famous florist Simon Lycett used tall branches and flowers in this central arrangement and the guests gravitated towards this setting as soon as they arrived.

From the reception to the main event, the Claridge’s ballroom was a truly remarkable vision. Positioned around the dance floor were dining tables with bright pink tablecloths, surrounded by chairs with alternating orange and pink seat pads. From the menus to the bright water glasses, the bold colours were utterly fabulous. Both complementing and further elevating the overall look, the florist’s arrangements were a sea of oranges, yellows, pinks and purples set in both high and low designs.

Following through from the subtle copper tealight holders in reception, the trim on the custom-built stage and bar also adopted this metallic touch. The bar, designed by JustSeventy, achieved the perfect balance of fitting in with the client’s theme but also incorporating the Claridge’s-style art deco motif.

In time for the guests entering the ballroom, the team used creative and exciting lighting to bring the room to life, with ‘Tatiana’s 50th’ projected onto the beautiful gloss dance floor in a handwritten style font. At one end, the well-known showband Muzika were waiting on an impressive stage where the DJ booth design tied in beautifully with the bar at the other end of the room. Muzika were on-hand throughout the evening to perform an excellently curated set for the guests to enjoy, and to raise the energy in the room. They alternated their time on the stage with DJ Max who only enhanced the entertainment, with expertly mixed tracks leading to a jam-packed dancefloor.

If the music wasn’t enough to keep the guests busy, there was a jazzy gold shimmer photo booth for the guests to take photos with their friends and family. If not taking amusing photos with the other guests, Lick Me I’m Delicious (a firm favourite with JustSeventy) had some amazing Nitro Ice Cream and 60mph Candy Floss. Not only are these completely and utterly delicious in every way, but they are so entertaining to watch being made, leaving guests completely enthralled by the offerings.

Many would argue that it isn’t officially a birthday party until there is a cake. In keeping with the aesthetic of the party, the cake was bright and colourful, alternating pink and orange tiers, with sugar flowers to match the real ones around the room. When the moment was right, with sparklers in the top, the cake was brought out and the birthday celebrations were able to peak.

Finally, one of many reasons in a long list of why to host an event at Claridge’s has to be when you and your guests can retire to the magnificent suites for the night, getting a good night’s sleep after a truly electric night.

The Brief:
  • Bright & Bold
  • Dazzle & Sparkle
