LA DOLCE VITA IN SARDINIA

“La Dolce Vita”… or a truly indulgent celebration of life’s pleasures… no wonder these JustSeventy regular clients gave this well-known Italian phrase as their brief!

When celebrating 60 years of life, why not insist on doing so with your closest friends and family over a weekend in Sardinia? Set in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, this breathtaking island was nothing short of a phenomenal spot to ‘wow’ the guests. Blue skies, turquoise waters and a never-ending coastline set against the rugged mountains; no matter what the final plans were going to be, this would simply blow everyone away.

Kicking off the celebrations on the Friday once everyone had landed on the island, the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda was the perfect place to start. With a backdrop of boats and a phenomenal sunset, the tone was well and truly set for the weekend to come. Such a beautiful setting needed very little enhancement, décor was kept simple with pots of herbs, tomatoes and trailing lemon tree installations.  Bespoke-designed stationery, featuring the Amalfi-style blue tiles, finished off the bars and food stations perfectly.

Ready to greet the guests on arrival, the staff had trays of deliciously refreshing Aperol spritz and other delights to help set the scene. A local jazz band serenaded the guests, mingling on the poolside, while traditional Italian dishes were served.

On the Saturday, from Marina di Porto Cervo to La Scogliera Beach Club, the 90 guests were in for a treat, continuing their fun weekend by travelling to lunch on a private boat under the glorious Mediterranean sun.  On arrival at the restaurant, guests enjoyed music from ALR’s Juke Joints who roamed throughout the space while guests settled in. Lunch and buffet stations, adorned once again in fresh greenery and lemons, consisted of home-made pizzas, salads, burrata, and roasted vegetables. The perfectly sumptuous but light Italian cuisine preceded an afternoon of either further dancing to DJ Marco Carpentieri or a sleep by the waterside.

Finally, to keep momentum yet bring the weekend to a close, the JustSeventy team worked hard to amplify the existing beauty of Villa Martine to allow a final breaking of bread.  Dinner tables, dressed with beautiful florals in varying seasonal colours, were positioned around the splendid swimming pool. The stone architecture of the villa, combined with such an imposing pool was yet another breathtaking location at which the guests would arrive.  With views across the mountains, all the way down to the sea, it really was the perfect place to wrap up the weekend.

As the sun set, guests enjoyed the immersive elements of Nuart’s artists setting up choreography on a scenic set around them, this included stilt walkers and live painting on musicians’ dresses. As dinner ended and the party could start, DJ Tony Perry was on the decks, along with Bjorn Again to bring the 70s party fun. Guests danced and enjoyed all that the Sardinian summer could possibly offer.
